You can use VLC Player to easily choose between any of audio tracks or you can use VirtualDub to get rid of any of audio tracks by following these steps: 1. Download Virtualdub from that WWW address: http://www.virtualdub.org/download.html 2. Download your version, unzip the files, start the program by running VirtualDub.exe 3. From “File” tab choose “Open video file” and find your triple audio file on your HDD (or you can simply drag and drop movie file into program window) 4. If any warning window pops up, just click on “OK” 5. From “Video” tab choose “Direct stream copy” option (very important, do not miss that step) 6. From “Audio” tab choose which audio stream you want to use, usually English is Stream 1, and commentary is on Stream 2, but to be 100 % sure use preview option that VD provides by clicking on “Play” button on the butttom of program window when video file is loaded. Of course you can get rid of original audio and save the file with commentary that way too, just by choosing other stream. 7. From “File” tab choose “Save AVI file”, put movie name and choose destination folder and then click on OK. There are tvo versions of this movie posted: one is the "prerelease" (1945) version of "The Big Sleep" that IMDB calls the director's cut and other version is theatrical one. The following describes the main differences between the two versions and why two versions were created. After the film was completed, it was shelved while Warner Bros. worked to release a backlog of war-related films. It was decided that since the war was drawing to a close, public interest in these films would substantially lessened after its conclusion, whereas The Big Sleep had no such obvious issues of time sensitivity which would require a more immediate release. (A careful eye will spot many indications of The Big Sleep being shot during the war, such as ration stamps and dialogue, and pictures of president Franklin Delano Roosevelt.) Once the war ended, and Warner Bros. planned to release The Big Sleep, the "Bogie & Bacall" phenomenon caused by their electric appearance in To Have and Have Not as well as their subsequent marriage, was in full swing. Bacall's agent requested that portions of the film be reshot to capitalize on her newly attained celebrity. Studio head Jack Warner agreed, and new material, such as the suggestive "horse racing" scene was added (even though, contextually, it makes no sense whatsoever). Parts of the ending were also reshot, with Peggy Knudsen now in the part of Mona Mars, owing to the original actress, Pat Clark, being unavailable. While there is only a difference of two minutes in the run time of both versions, there is over twenty minutes of different footage between them. This resulted in a great deal of confusion being artificially imposed on what was an already intricate plot. Soon Dixon has fallen in love with Morgan - but not before losing his temper again and committing a terrible deed that he tries to cover up.
